We use the term hybrid on this wiki to refer to aerial machines that combine large different systems for lift or propulsion in ways that are neither just balloons, nor just fixed wings, nor just helicopters. E.g. combinations of fixed wings, flapping wings, multiplanes, balloons, propellers, and jets, which look unlike earlier successful aircraft. Many of these have fun pictures or diagrams.
