Patent GB-1908-21498

Rudolf Penkala was a contractor residing at 8 Törökutzca, Budapest, Hungary, and Eduard Penkala was a chemist residing at 17 Franz-Josefs-Platz, Zagreb, Croatia, though this latter national distinction is contemporary to us and may have varied at the time. We have him otherwise noted as residing in Hungary. Indeed, the German-language street name indicates clearly that Zagreb was under Austro-Hungarian control. Zagreb was the capital of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia which was situated within “the lands of the Crown of Saint Stephen”, administratively under the Kingdom of Hungary, indeed situated within the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

  • Inventor location: Budapest and Zagreb, Hungary ; Contractor and Chemist
