David Hamilton Coles

David Hamilton Coles (~1837 – 13 May 1917) was an engineer from Brooklyn, New York.

His obituary names him as "inventor of the Requa-Coles automobile engine";[1] he also patented a sewing machine in the 1870s and had at least one aero patent, for an interesting hybrid airship.
