Patent FR-1906-369855

This airship is shaped almost in the manner of a fairly simple balloon, though its top fraction is a bit more angular than round. A vertical airscrew provides lift, or elevation. It seems to have been inspired by simple balloons, and may have had limited applications as the airplane was dawning dominantly within the realm of the heavier-than-air. It is of interest. Though not resembling a helicopter in any usual sense, it pertains to related principles. Belgians may have played a significant per capita role in the earlier development of the helicopter, during and after the periods which we are studying. There is a significant per volume focus on propellers, and perhaps on propellers in the service of lift, or elevation.
