Monoplane

In German, incidentally, this is "Eindecker", that is, having one main set of wing surfaces, as distinguished from the Zweidecker (i.e. biplane) and the Mehrdecker (i.e. that is, an aircraft having "more than one" main set of wing surfaces). In diagrams and so forth, this last is often depicted as a biplane, though it is pointedly suggestive of more.
