Guido Antoni
Guido Antoni was an aero inventor, and a draftsman, 1, Via Cappuccini, Pisa, Italy, at 46 Via Vittorio Emanuele, Pisa, Italy and at 14 Lungarno Mediceo, Pisa, Italy, working it seems exclusively in collaboration with Ugo Antoni, his "employee", and likely a son or younger brother.
(Naturally, in the cases both of Guido Antoni and of Ugo Antoni, in light of the number of references made, in various of their British, American, and French patents, to Italian patents preceding them, finding the Italian originals would be ideal.)
In the cases of both of these men, although we do not know the specifics of their personal incomes, "inventor" seems to be a viable "occupation".
According to one source he had the title "Ing", possibly meaning he was a certified engineer.[1]
Guido Antoni seems to have started a company. One source says it was in operation in 1911: "The San Giusto Pisa airfield was built [in] 1911 by the pioneers of the flight from Pisa Ugo and Guido Antoni for the aviation activities of their company, the Antoni Aviation Company."[2]. Another source refers to a company, apparently the same one, in 1923: "Societa Italiana Brevetti Antoni completed in 1923 an experimental aircraft with variable-camber wing using patents and designs of Ing Guido Antoni. Firm was wound up shortly afterwards. Antoni, an inventor in several fields, was first associated with aviation in 1912."[1]
For the 1915 patent groups, Haseltine, Lake & Co. handled the filings in Britain and in the US.
