This is an odd heavier-than-air, without any resemblance to what we would call an airplane. It is an odd helicopter, with an emphasis on piston-based propulsion using the combustion of compressed gas as a power source, using ascension-oriented propellers on compressed air for an enhanced effect.
This is a “coléoptère”.
