We have little on German Carl Franz Hubert Hertel, other than that he had the title of Doctor, and that he filed from Bremen-Neustadt, Germany.[1] He worked extensively with Carl Wilhelm Paul on "an airplane with a spherical cabin". The two inventors also worked on the airplane more generally and on airplane stability achieved by way of gyroscopic principles and apparatus.
