The creation of the term Aeronautical Engineer is part of the appearance of early aero and aviation.
The first appearance of the term in patents might be in this one: Patent GB-1909-23166 There, the Short Brothers simply describe themselves as having this occupation. That patent was filed on October 11, 1909.
But the term seems to have been used in the name of this company/consultancy much earlier: C. and A. Wittemann Aeronautical Engineers That company was supposedly founded in September 1905. Can we show that it used the term in its name that early? If not, then how early?
