'Édouard-Jean Bigourdan, sometimes Edouard Jean Bigourdan, sometimes merely Edouard Bigourdan was an aero inventor and self-described Engineer and Gentleman and Tax Collector who filed patents from multiple French locations, and in various patterns of collaboration. We are looking into the likelihood that Edmond Bigourdan is this same individual.
We have him filing from within département Seine-Inférieure, France.[1]
We have "Edouard Jean Bigourdan" as a Gentleman filing from Maisse, département Seine-et-Oise, France, filing in collaboration with Alexis Beurrier.[2]
We have him as an Engineer filing from département Charente-Inférieure, France.[3]
We have "Edouard Bigourdan" as a Tax Collector filing from Boulevard du Nord, Maisse, département Seine-et-Oise, France, filing in collaboration with Alexis Beurrier and Louis Lacoin.[4]
On two patents we see "Edmond", instead of "Edouard". Both are patenting in collaboration with Alexis Beurrier.[5] We are presently assuming this is one inventor. We are noting name and occupation and location data across specifically inter-related patents.
We have some growing data on location changes on the part of Édouard-Jean Bigourdan, as such, filing from Montguyon, département Charente-Inférieure, France.[6] We have him later filing from département Seine-Inférieure, France.[7] We have Edmond Bigourdan, as such, filing from within Seine-et-Oise, in collaboration with Alexis Beurrier, filing from within Charente-Inférieure.[8]
These are odd relations. It is not impossible that Alexis Beurrier worked collaboratively with two likely related Bigourdans, sharing the location data Montguyon, Charente-Inférieure with one of them. We are still leaning to the idea that we are dealing with one inventor with the surname Bigourdan, as odd as the changes in name for may be, and as odd as some of location moves, relative to other collaborators, may also be.
