Aircraft had valved hinged flapping birdlike wings, covered with silk; steel tubes form skeleton; driven by gasoline engine sparked by battery; operator leans one way or another to steer; horizontal fly-wheel acts as gyroscope; rubber air tanks on the sides act as cushions and flotation devices; base of inclined planes, with legs which can cork-screw into the ground. The claims discuss bracing and hinging of the wings extensively. Wheels and tubes ("bars") are mentioned often.
