“L’hélice a une forme creuse analogue à celle d’une gorge de menuisier ; le creux a une flèche minima de cinq pour cent par rapport à la largeur de la pale au point considéré.”

That is, “The blade has a narrowing form analogous to that of the gouge of a carpenter or furniture maker; the tapering has a narrowing down to five percent relative to the thickness of the blade at the point considered.”
