The Österreichische Ausstellung für Luftschiffahrt was held in Linz in September 1909 by the Oberösterreichischer Verein f̈́ür Luftschiffahrt under archduke Josef Ferdinand.

The main sections were:[1]

  1. Models of different types of aircraft (balloons, dirigibles, flying machines, kites, etc.)
  2. Instruments
  3. Motors
  4. Balloon-making
  5. Science of air travel (literature, cartography, meteorology, astronomy, etc.)
  6. Equipment for airmen
  7. Aircraft, military aircraft, free and captive balloons, kites, airplanes, and ornithopters ("Drachen-, Schrauben- und Schwingenflieger").

Johann Straka from Triest exhibited a balloon photography apparatus using the system of Theodor Scheimpflug.

Igo Etrich displayed a propeller and pictures of aircraft.

Jacob Lohner & Co. showed an original "Burchardt III" glider and models of other aircraft.

Other participants: Jacob Dietrich of Vienna, Raoul Hofmann of Vienna, Vereinigte Gummiwaaren-Fabriken Harburg-Wien.
