Konstantin Tsiolkovsky
Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (Konstantin Tziolkovski, Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovskii, Константин Циолковский) was a multidimensional scientist and aero inventor. He later became famous as a rocket scientist.[1]
In the 1890s Tsiolkovsky worked on designing a large metallic airship, and in the process decided to create a wind tunnel to conduct aerodynamic testing. He identified 80 cm3 as an upper limit to the cross-section of a body moving through the air with unimpeded flow, and tested the drag coefficients of various shapes.[2]

Notes on publications
We seem to be missing many of his publications. Just from en.wp, we see several relevant to aero:
- "A Controllable Metallic Balloon" (1892) -- some publication apart from his patent probably
- "An Airplane or a Birdlike (Aircraft) Flying Machine" (1894)
- Tsiolkovsky, Konstantin E. (1893), On the Moon (На Луне)
- Tsiolkovsky, Konstantin E. (1903), "The Exploration of Cosmic Space by Means of Reaction Devices (Исследование мировых пространств реактивными приборами)", The Science Review (alternative translations of "Reaction devices": "rocket devices", "reaction engines" aka jet engines)
