Wilhelm Kauertz was a Merchant, addressed at 13, Seydlitzerstrasse, Düsseldorf, Germany[1] and, more or less concurrently, at Anzengruberstraße 19, Neukölln (Berlin).[2] He seems to have worked primarily with elaborate airship hangars, or hangar complexes, featuring pairs of independently rotable hangars, with likewise separately rotable upper and lower portions, aiding perhaps in the rapidity and in the selected direction of airship launch or takeoff.

Kauertz filed his 1913 patent in six countries outside of Germany, but apparently made (or succeeded in) no foreign filings of his 1914 patent.
