A hub designed to give some free movement to the blades, then fitted into a metal case, which can be adjusted to change the angle of propeller. With the overall intent of giving enough freedom to the blades to respond to small changes in the air, without allowing the whole vessel to be pulled suddenly in the wrong direction.
