The applicant gives a preface, stating that dirigibility of balloons has been considered impossible, and that while this may be true of spherical balloons, it is not so with the conical/annual design he proposes. He gives some formulas which seem to deal with the ascensional force. Then he provides a mathematical formula for the conical form of his aircraft.
