The Hamburger Verein Für Luftschiffahrt or Hamburg Association for Aerial Navigation was established 17 Feb. 1908. It also joined the DLV (German Aeronaut Federation : Deutscher Luftschiffer-Verband) in 1908. The emphasis appears to have been on ballooning.

Elections appear to have been held on 17 Feb. 1908 and Professor Dr. Voller was made the first chairman. He appears to have still been in that position in 1910 when Edmund J. A. Siemers was vice chairman, and Dr. Rud. Moenckeberg was secretary and office manager. At that time, the association had 645 members, including 19 balloon guides. It owned three free balloons and used the Stadtische Gasanstalt (Municipal Gasworks) in Hamburg.

Three hundred members attended the first meeting on 17 Feb 1908, and 400 the next on 11 April 1908.[1]

Jane's 1910-1911 lists the address as 22 Andreastrasse. We suspect that that may have been the secretary's address.
