Dring explains his understanding of insect flight, finding three types: gliding-flight, flapping-wing flight, and rotary-wing flight. He describes his understanding of rotary-wing flight working by creating an air "vortex" and gives a short description of his flying machine based on that principle. He says he has conducted experiments to find the best shape to use.
