Armengaud family

The Armengaud family led the small professional clique of French patent agents, and were involved in the Syndicat général des ingénieurs-conseils to this end.[1]

The first generation (for our purposes) was Jacques-Eugène Armengaud (1810–1891) and Charles-François Armengaud (1813–1893). These gentlemen went by Armengaud aîné and Armengaud jeune, respectively, and, it would seem, passed these titles down to their sons, Charles-Eugène Armengaud aîné (1842?–?) and Jules-Alexis-Marie Armengaud jeune (1842–1921).[2]

A 1905 publication of the Société des ingénieurs civils de France lists four Armengaud members in Paris:[3]

  • Armengaud jeuene (Jules)
  • Armengaud aîné (Charles-Eugène)
  • Armengaud (Marcel-Cyprien-Adrien)
  • Armengaud (Pierre)

A Marcel Armengaud is listed as a person in the French Society of Aerial Navigation, that is, "la Société française de navigation aérienne" or (SFNA). Possibly Marcel and Pierre Armengaud were part of the same Armengaud family. A Marcel Armengaud, jeune, was a witness to REP's Patent US-1908-1115795.

To properly integrate reports on publications by or about any of the members of this family complex will take a great deal of disambiguation.
