Framework.-Tubular spars, struts, &c. for aircraft are formed from strips of sheet metal, the longitudinal joints being made by forming the edges of the strips with alternate tongues and recesses 1, 2, which are engaged and then bent over. The central portions of the strips may be corrugated or perforated. Preferably, triangular apertures a.re made, and the metal 5 forming the edges of the opening is bent over inwardly."
