Robert Blackburn established factory in Leeds, June 1914; wartime production including Royal Aircraft Factory BE2cs and Sopwiths. Built seaplanes by 1920 at new site at Brough on Humber, west of Hull, UK.

Sample British patent data gives them as located in Olympia, Leeds, Yorkshire, and they are identified as Aeroplane Manufacturers, filing with the individual inventors Harris Booth and George Beaumont.[1]

This firm seems to have been unusually serious and specific regarding patents ; they filed a lot, following very much the same pattern. Almost always a provisional, and listing their engineer/inventor as well as the firm. The patent texts are pretty short. Most involve creations of wood.
