The invention is for aircraft with multiple engines. If an engine breaks down, the invention instantly prevents the stopped engine from "reverse movement" so the other engines are not impeded from continuing to work.

The description of the invention refers to the differential gears of motor cars. This invention includes a ratchet keeping "In an arrangement of two motors connected together by a differential gear for driving the propeller of an aeroplane, means are provided on the motor shafts for preventing a motor that has stopped from being driven in the reverse direction by the active motor."
