The Magdeburger Verein fur Luftschiffahrt or Magdeburg Association for Aerial Navigation was established on 27 Apr. 1908. It joined the DLV on 1 June 1908.

The Magdeburger Verein was founded on the suggestion of Dr. A. Berg. Its first chairman, elected 27 Apr. 1908, was the mayor, Dr. Jur. Lentze. In 1910, Lentze was chairman, Kurt Sorge was vice chairman, and Rudolf Weidenhagen was secretary and office director As of 1910, there were 250 members, including 14 balloon guides. The association owned one free balloon. There were two balloon places, a stockyard at Magdeburg and the Staditsches Gasanstal (Municipal Gasworks) at Halberstadt. There was apparently some motorized airship or aeroplane flying for the Association used the course at the Magdeburg racing club as a flight place.

1910-1911 Jane's listed the address as 9 Dienerstrasse, which may have been the address of the secretary.

Affiliated with DLV on 1 June 1908.
