The Deutsche Motorfahrer-Vereinigung (DMV) or German Engine Drivers' Union was founded 24 May 1903 in Munich. By May 1909, it had created a Luftschiffer Kommission or Aeronaut Committee. The association joined the DLV (German Aeronaut Federation : Deutscher Luftschiffer-Verband) on 21 May 1909. Its official publication was Der Motofahrer.

In 1910, the DMV had 12,500 members. It appears that the Aeronaut Committee had five representatives, two from Berlin, one from Konigswinter, and one from Hamburg, under the chairmanship of L. Bruckmayer of Munich.

Affiliated with DLV, 1909, 21 May
