Baden Fletcher Smyth (B.F.S.) Baden-Powell (i.e. Baden Baden-Powell) was a balloon and kite inventor, an aviator, and President of the Royal Aeronautical Society from 1900 to 1907.

BFS Baden-Powell and his brother Robert Baden-Powell, known as the founder of Boy Scouting, were sons of mathematician Baden Powell. To pronounce the name, according to a Baden-Powell-authored verse on R. B.-P.'s Wikipedia page, "Man, Nation, Maiden / Please call it Baden. / Further, for Powell / Rhyme it with Noel."

He was one of several notables expressing interest in the Aeronautical Navigation Conference at 1893 World's Fair without these communications showing up in the Proceedings.[1]
