Association for Motorized Aerial Navigation in Nordmark

The Verein fur Motor-Luftschiffahrt in der Nordmark or Association for Motorized Aerial Navigation in Nordmark was founded in Kiel, Grand Duchy of Nordmark, on 29 Aug. 1908.

Its official journal was Die Luftflotte'', the official gazette of the Deutscher Luftflotten Verein (German Aerial League).

In 1910, there were two district groups (Kreisgruppen), one at Norderdithmarschen and the other at Oldenburg. Under the Oldenburg Kreissgruppe were eight local groups: Altona, Echeruforde, Elmshorn, Flensburg, Gluckstadt, Neumunster, Pion, and Schleswig. Each had its own chairman.

Vice Admiral Count von Moltke was elected the first president on 29 Aug. 1908 and Counter Admiral Lans was elected vice president. In 1910, Claassen was office director. There were 1,500 members in the association. The association used the airship hall in Kiel.

It joined the DLV (German Aeronaut Federation : Deutscher Luftschiffer-Verband) on 21 May 1909. It affiliated with DLV through parent organization.
