The Anhaltischer Verein fur Luftschiffahrt or Anhalt Association for Aerial Navigation was founded in Dessau on 1 Nov. 1909.

There appear to have been elections on 1 Nov. 1909. Initial officers include Dr. von Oechellhaeuser, chairman; von Graevenitz, vice chairman, K Wandel, secretary; and Burkner, 2nd secretary. In 1910, there were 168 members. The association owned one free balloon. Free fill was available at the balloon hall at Roon and Blumenstrasse. It appears that two local firms made dragon kites available to members.

The Association joined the DLV on 15 Mar. 1910.
