William Nelson Hutchinson was a general in Her Majesty's army, residing at the time of filing aero patents at Wellesbourne, Bideford, in the county of Devon, England.
He'd been commanding general of Bermuda and held other high roles. His balloon efforts are not much discussed on Wikipedia.[1]
