The address of the 'Syndicat Général de L'Aviation was the Hotel de la Société des Ingenieurs Civils de France, which was also the location of the Société française de navigation aérienne.

In 1910, there were about 40 members who included constructors, aviators, makers of spare parts, publicists, and various dealers. Officers in 1910 included: G. de Manthé, president; Édouard Surcouf and Gabriel Voisin, vice presidents; P. Roger, treasurer; and E. Hanfeurt, secretary. Constructor members were Bondol, Bonnet-Labranche, Dutheil, Hanriot, Liore, G. de Manthe, Passerat, and Gabriel Voisin.[1]

Coverage in the English Motor-Car Journal portrays the Syndicat as an interest group advocating for the rights of aviators:

It includes constructors and pilots of flying machines, directors of aviation journals, representatives of societies created to organize aviation meetings, and in general all persons exercising a profession connected with aviation. The object of the syndicate, as expounded in the articles of association, is to serve as intermediary between its members and the French and foreign aero clubs, aviation societies, organisers of aviation meetings, and sporting authorities, especially the Commission Aerienne Mixte, in order to defend the interests of the syndicate against the regulations which may be deemed harmful to their interests and detrimental to aviation. The syndicate also claims the rights to establish sporting and other regulations.[2]
