Silas Christofferson was an aero inventor, aviator and businessmen.
In Portland, Oregon, he founded Christofferson Aeroplane and the Christofferson-Woods Carburetor Company.[1] In 1912 he set up Christofferson Aviation Company in San Francisco, also apparently running a flying school and transportation services.
He collaborated variously with his brothers Harry Christofferson, Goodsell Christofferson, and Harvey Christofferson, as well as with other inventors.
He died on 31 October 1916 when his engine died in midflight.[2]
