The Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) was initiated in 1912 as a branch of the Royal Flying Corps then moved to the Admiralty's jurisdiction in 1914.[1]
En.wp says it started formally in 1914.[2] Howlett and Wikidata say it started in 1912.[1] It was merged with its Army equivalent to become the unified Royal Air Force (RAF), and the RNAS name disappeared.
