R. F. Patterson was an aero engineer and author who worked for Curtiss and then for the Hall-Scott Motor Company in San Francisco.[1]
The publisher of Aeronautics (US) (Ernest LaRue Jones?) introduced Patterson as "one of the very early men in aviation in this country, an engineer with university training and a man who has had practical experience on the draughting board, in the shop, on the road, and in the machine."[2] (There were then published blueprints of Patterson's design for a hydroaeroplane.)
