  • From google patents abstract: "Land wheels or trollies for aeroplanes and other aircraft, adapted to be detached and left behind at the end of the run in starting, are carried by stub-axles 9 fixed to longitudinal bars or other members 3, which are formed with one or more lips 5 and upwardly-extending faces 4 arranged to bear against corresponding faces on the float or other under-structure 1, and with upwardlyextending arms 6 attached to the float &c. by pins 8 or other readily detachable fastening"
