"In rigid air-ships of the type having a number of gas-containers arranged between transverse partitions composed of radial stay wires, the upper parts of the walls of the gas containers are connected by flexible connexions to the main framework in order to relieve the transverse partitions of the lateral pressures exerted by the gas-containers when, for example, the air-ship is inclined to the horizontal."
