"10,304. Wagner, R., and Radinger, C. E. von. Dec. 8, 1908, [Convention date]. Aerostats.-In an aerostat of a cylindrical or torpedo-like form, the framework is made of a number of collapsible sections adapted to be readily connected together. Each section of the framework comprises longitudinal members a, and radial struts b pivoted to the ends of the members a and to a central ring c. The longitudinal members are braced together by diagonal and circumferential stays d, e. The gas envelopes g may be placed either inside or outside the collapsible frame. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the radial struts are extended by cords f connecting adjacent rings c, and, when collapsed, the struts fold inwards. In another form in which a single cord is used to connect all the axial rings c, the radial struts fold inwardly at one end and outwardly at the other. The frame rods a, b may be made of aluminium or of tubes as described in Specifications 9239/09, [Class 99 (ii) Pipes, tubes, &c.], and 11,638/09."
