In truth, there is some ambiguity in terms of the dates given here below. In the case of other German material, or German-langauge material, the phraseology “Patentiert vom” is the second of two dates peculiar to the nation in which the patent in question is filed, aside from any foreign priority date which may be present, which we treat as date granted, being that an earlier filing date is explicitly present. This and some other of our per se German material uses the phraseology “Patentiert im Deutshen Reich vom”, in this case 1915-04-16, with no earlier date on hand, and with the “Ausgegeben” coming much later, in this case 1920-03-09.
