The Nizhny-Novgorod Society of Aeronautics, or simply the Aeronautical Society at . . . , was founded on 3 Feb. 1911. We know from Maj. Gen. Sir Alfred Knox, the British military attache to Russia from 1911 through 1917, that an aero club in Ninni-Novgorod ceased to exist in 1913. We think it most likely that it was the Aeronautical Society that ceased to exist in 1913.
