The firm was founded in 1853 by Henry Howson, at Forst Place, South 4th Street, Philadelphia. Other members of the family joined the firm and it became known as Howson and Sons. Now called Howson & Howson, the firm boasts to this day of procuring Patent US-1897-621195 for Ferdinand von Zeppelin.[1]
Howson & Sons appears in the 1883 Roster of registered U.S. patent attorneys (p. 22) at 119 South Fourth st., Philadelphia.
