Frank John Tippen
Frank John Tippen was an aero inventor, as Engineer addressed at 27, Buckingham Gate, London, S.W. 1, and filing in collaboration with George Holt Thomas, the “Managing Director of Airships, Limited”.[1] It must be noted that this is also given as the address of George Holt Thomas and may be somewhat of a corporate address for Airships, Limited and the Aircraft Manufacturing Co.
Tippen was one of many inventors filing in collaboration with George Holt Thomas, with their being a chance that Thomas' role was somewhat corporate, and with the possibility that the sparks of unique innovation came from Tippen and the others. Tippen seems to be the main LTA player within this complex. It may be that George Holt Thomas plays a role relative to corporatization and industrialization with these relatively scattered individuals on the other side of the collaborations playing the greater role relative to the dynamism we may associate with some truer innovation.
