As of 2024, Finnish patents now seem to be on espacenet and google, e.g.: [1] and [2]
- "Swedish patent agents were responsible for between 30-40% of foreign patents in Finland."[1]
- Starting in 1856 in Sweden and in 1876 in Finland it was required that for a foreigner to get a patent, a local patent agent must be identified. Andersson indicates that the requirement was intended to serve judicial processes.[1]
- The technology classification system for patents was basically the German one, with some modifications. Jari Eloranta confirms this. We haven't documented the differences, but 77 is the main number/category for aeronautics and aviation.
