Edwin Richard Mumford was a naval architect and aero inventor who filed patents from Lynton House, Dumbarton, County of Dumbarton, Scotland. On one document he uses the term "North Britain" instead of "Scotland".
Mumford was head of the experimental department at Denny Brothers shipyard at Dunbarton.[1]
