John Nevil Maskelyne was a magician and inventor in London.
Maskelyne coauthored an aero patent with John Mackenzie Bacon, also his collaborator in filming solar eclipses. (Maskelyne descended, in fact, from the British astronomer Nevil Maskelyne, who traveled the globe making important solar observations in the eighteenth centry.)[1]
He filed some other patents, mainly in Great Britain, to do with electricity and locks.
His address was Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly. See w:Egyptian Hall, which notes Maskelyne's occupancy and states that the building was demolished in 1905.
