German Aerial League, Provincial Association Rhine Province
The Deutscher Luftflotten Verein (DLFV) or German Aerial League as it was called in English-language publications of the time, was founded 7 July 1908 in Mannheim, Germany. As a national patriotic organization, it desired that German flying machines should exist and compete with those of foreign nations. By the end of March 1910, there were 11 regional leagues within Germany, each composed of several local groups.
In 1910, the Provinzial Verband Rheinprovinz was headquartered in Coln am Rhein where Wallraf was chairman. There were eight local groups, Burg und Mark at Elberfeld (Oskar Erbsloh, chairman), Bonn-Godesberg (Dr. A. Pfluger, chairman), Dusseldorf (Colonel Blaurock, chairman), Coln (Wallraf, chairman), /crefekd (Dr. Limbourg, chairman), Mulheim am Ruhr (Dr. Deicke, chairman), Saargebiet (G. Obenauer, chairman), and Sigmaringen (Major von Blumroder, chairman).
