"Gyroscopic apparatus for balancing an aerial machine. The gyroscope wheel a is mounted by a gimbal, Fig. 1, on a normally vertical shaft c, carried by the body of the machine, and a slow rotation in the same direction as that of the wheel a is imparted through gearing from the shaft c to a circular rack b mounted on a bearing concentric with the shaft c. "
