The Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Flugtechnik Eingetragener Verein (Scientific Society for Flight Technology, Registered Organization) existed from 1912–1914, then became the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Luftfahrt (and later the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrt).[1]
It published the Jahrbuch der Wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft für Flugtechnik.
The decision to change the name was ratified at the April 1914 annual meeting, based on the idea that Luftfahrt appropriately implied a wider spectrum of activity beyond "Flug".[2]
