The University of California Aero Club was organized, apparently in March 1910, to bring together aeronautically interested members of the university. The club soon sponsored a lecture series, a balloon ascension, and glider flights for its members.

Initial officers included Prof. Joseph Hidalgo, president; T. Henshaw, vice president; Thomas Veitch, secretary; and S. E. Woodworth, treasurer.
