Rōmazi-Sekai
Rōmazi-Sekai (Romanji World) is or was a magazine/journal in Japan devoted to the use of Roman/western alphabets to express the Japanese language in writing.
It's possible there's a link between westernization of Japan, the romanization of its writing, and the work on aviation there, if only because Aikitu Tanakadate was committed to both.
From Japanese Wikipedia: "In addition to carrying out activities to popularize and promote Japanese-style Roman characters, the Japan Romaji Society established Nihon Romaji-sha (NRS) as a publishing division in 1909 , and published the society's magazine Rômazi Sekai (Romaji World) and Torahiko Terada . He published books written in Roman characters such as ``Umi no Buturigaku (Physics of the Sea). Takuro Tamaru, a physicist who was a disciple of Tanakadate and became a central figure in the Romanization Society of Japan along with Tanakadate, wrote ``Romaji Kokuji Theory, which was said to be the ``bible of Romanji scholars both before and after the war."[1]
