Patent GB-1916-101442

Pockmarks or slats on the top of airfoils, designed so that airflow would evacuate the air from these small spaces and the resulting vacuum would cause lift. It seems to be only an idea here, not shown to work in a model or a theory. It is not made clear what properties would make these pockets more effective or less effective at generating vacuum or life, and it is not proven to work in any specific case. (Apparently a low quality patent.)
