  • From google patents abstract: ""No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Propelling.-A flying- machine or air-ship is lifted or propelled by wheels the blades of which consist o f a number of feathering vanes 5. The feathering is effected by a fixed cam 7 on which run rollers 11 on the ends of spring arms connected by rods 9 to the vanes. The vanes are tapered as shown, and are thicker at their inner than at their outer ends. The machine may be driven by a motor or by foot power. Steering.-The frame 10 which carries the propelling - wheels may be tilted by worm gearing so as to change the direction of thrust of the propellers for varying the direction of flight."
